Superb
food and the arts are a natural pairing! When people go out
to listen to a concert, hear a poetry reading, or view an
exhibit, they want to go out to eat-whether for dinner, a
glass of wine, or a decadent dessert. The Arts Center's Dine for
the Arts program is in its third fabulous year.
The way it works is very simple.
Every month, we invite lovers of the arts to go out to eat!
On the first Thursday of each month, our partner restaurant
will donate a percentage of their profits from that day to
The Arts Center and its programs. And what a lineup we have in
store! Please mark your personal calendars and make a point
of dining out on first Thursdays: make a date with a long-lost
friend, schedule your book club group, socialize with the
team after the game. And be sure to tell your waiter or the
manager that you are there that day in support of their generous
commitment to The Arts Center!
"My friends and I meet
once a month over dinner. This year we will schedule our dinners
by the Dine for the Arts calendar. It is a win-win; we get
to a variety of great restaurants and support The Arts Center and
its programs at the same time." - Jeanne Smith, Attorney
Thanks to the talented staff
at Fusion Marketing & Design, we have many ways to remind
you and thank the restaurants. You will see the Dine for the
Arts logo on posters and a special magnet that will list the
restaurants by month. But you don't have to bring in a flyer
or coupon; you enjoy your meal on the first Thursday of the
month at the featured restaurant and know that you are helping
support programs like artist residencies in the schools, arts
for at-risk youth, artists working with patients at hospice
and hospitals, exhibitions, and scholarships for student arts
classes.
We are delighted by this creative
partnership and thank the restaurants, Fusion, and our many
first Thursday diners in advance. Bon appetit!
Some
thoughts on Dining...
To dine, or not to dine, that is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The spoons and knnives of outrageous service
Or to eat at restaurants that support the arts,
And by dining help us. To Dine; To Eat;
Help arts; and by a choice to say we end
The heartburn and the thousand awful dishes
That other restaurants are heir to. 'Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd.
compliments

Winterlight
is The Arts Center's annual holiday gift show of fine arts and
crafts. It highlights new and favorite work by many artists
and artisans throughout the Northwest. All the proceeds
from the show support the over 100 artists in the show as
well as the programs of The Arts Center.
We take great care is taken to offer
a wide range of appealing gifts. Objects include cards,
ornaments, jewelry: both custom silver and semi-precious
stones, functional and decorative ceramics, hand knitted
and silk scarves and ties, glass ware, prints, and many
surprises.
There is always a wide price range to
choose from as well; ranging from ornaments that start at
$2.50 to original prints and paintings. The Arts Center members receive
their usual 10% discount throughout Winterlight, but during
our special "Preview Evening," members receive
a 15% discount on all purchases. Everyone is encouraged
to come, become a member, and shop during the evening!
How
to participate as an artist
The ArtShop Manager begins selecting Winterlight artists
in May each year. If you are interested, please contact

You can also send samples, photographs or slides. Please
