Artist's Statement, 'Passages' - 'Portals,' Winter Show & Silent Auction, 2011:

I love creating my artwork! It’s how I put into words the way I think, feel, and see.

The vibrancy, color, and texture of the natural beauty around us inspire my art. The Pacific Northwest offers endless vistas of natural beauty—the coast, western foothills, mountains, and the deserts offer an always changing environment that provides the perfect landscape. Oregon’s lush gardens offer a large variety of flowers and plants to draw.

Through the years, I have used a variety of mediums —oils, watercolor, pen and ink, and pastels. Currently, I am creating carved and painted linoleum blocks, and sealed pastels.

For The Arts Center ‘Portals’ show I’m exploring yet another new direction – ‘roads’ to new places, and absolutely enjoying the creative journey.

No matter what form I choose for my artwork, I thoroughly enjoy the process.
