Celeste Cooning

Celeste Cooning was born in Seymour, Indiana in 1978. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and a B.A. in Art History from Indiana University, Bloomington.
A pervading interest in pattern and ornamentation led to the exploration of cut paper. This change in material facilitates a particular responsiveness to form, shape, scale, and the effects of light and shadow, resulting in the current installation based work.
Upon completing a Masters of Fine Arts in Painting at the University of Washington, Celeste continues to live and work in Seattle, WA.
