Statement:
"My name is Adam, I’m a woodcarver, a carpenter, a designer, a builder, a craftsman, a student of life and a constant ponderer. I’ve always loved working with my hands, building tree houses since way back. I studied architecture at the University of Oregon from 2000-2005/6. Uninspired with ‘Architecture’ at the end of my schooling, I discovered woodcarving and Sacred Geometry and fell in love. All of a sudden, I had found a field of study and ways of expression that I was thrilled to explore. The more I found, the more enamored I became-the beauty is absolutely endless. And so it continues, with ups and downs and all arounds, spiraling ever onwards. The regular spherical solids, and their myriad shadows and variations have become my teachers, and I am so thankful to be their student.”

Artist's Statement for
'Calculated Result - Mathematical Art,' September 2011:
"This carving ['Flower of Life Sphere'] is based on the ancient pattern known as the Flower of Life. Circles building circles, creating a triangular grid. I wanted to see what this pattern could look like in 3D, so I explored some possibilities and came to a spherical icosahedron, with each of the original 20 triangular faces divided into 16 smaller triangles. The geometry could be seen as a 4-frequency geodesic sphere. Most of my carvings are based on the regular (and semi-regular) solids, like Dodecahedron and Tetrahedron. Exploring the possibilities of patterns tessellating spherically is most of what captivates me these days. I see these geometries as little fractals of the universe, with all the lessons of the world to be decoded from any and all of them. I spend much of my time up in the GeomeTree of Life, plotting homes and plucking fruits. Thank YOUniverse for everything.
